Hey gang, as Kelly has now put out we have the new 80 meter award. After some discussion with him it remains the same as it always did so no worries there. Just get your 25 states out of 50 and you will be good to go.
As far as the net goes we are still looking around the middle of September although I have toyed with the ideal of waiting to the end of September before we start back up. So in any case just keep checking back and we will post when we are going to start for sure.
I am looking forward to seeing most if not all of my regulars operators back on the net. I imagine we may still have a little issue with stations out west, like Don in CO. and maybe for sure Mike out in CA places like that, that will still not come in great even around October but we will make the best of it we can.
I would love to get states that we rarely have had in the past start to appear once again. Like Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Alabama, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,, Oregon, Maine, New Jersey, South Carolina, Louisiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Missouri, Akansas, Illinois, Iowa, Georgia, and Michigan. Those are some of the states that not to long ago maybe within a year to year and a half we still had people every once in a great while did check in. I have been in formed that at the present time there are around 20 states that are not even being represented like they use to be in times past. Many of us who have been in HamSphere for quite awhile has gotten the W.A.S. Award, thankfully for that one you was not limited to just 80 meters, all the bands were fair game.
I do ask if you are from a state that rarely checks in or you may have checked in somewhat regularly in the past but not so much now please stay around in the net for the full time that the net is going on so that the others in the net can make contact with you. We understand things come up, radios freeze up, you lose internet connections whatever it may be, but try and hang in there for the duration of the net.
Anybody have any questions feel free to ask me, If I know the answer you will get it and if I do not know the answer I will find out myself. And by the way if any of you would like to help out and be a secondary net control operator, help run the nets if need be and such let me know I can always use the help. I plan to hang in there as much as possible and keep this net alive, but there could be a time with things going on that I may not be able to keep it up. Take care guys N8RGO 73
