A. When I use DX Mon to monitor the strength of my signal using the Power Amp the following happens:
1. When using dry-run mode (A+T) I can see that my signal is stronger then when the Power Amp is off: (S+T) or (S+R) 2. When using normal mode (A+R) I cant see that my signal is stronger using DX Mon. Is this a bug or is it suppose to work like this? B. Does anyone already have experience in using it? Getting a test report of a station that the signal is stronger when using the Power Amp? With regard and 73s! Gerard 19HS2807 |

It took a bit of experimenting with it to figure it out , this is what i found: S lit up amp is off, A lit up is on . A+ R amp is in standby mode A+T amis in operate mode . you do not need to "key" the mic to tune the way hamsphere has it designed it does not send a signal when tuning ( which i found strange the operator does not key the transmitter like a real tube amp to tune it for band and max output ) to tune it: put in the A ( yellow) +T (red) setting on what band you are using, set input drive to 10-20 watts. using the the plate knob first turn until its to max green segments , then use load to fine tune it to max red segments will light up . depending on what band you should get 3-4 red segments at the end most times i see 3, when fully tuned to max once its tuned to max turn up the input drive to 100 depending on band you should see anywhere from 900 w -1.3 kw to test its working: turn on dx monitor. pick what antenna you want to use vertical or the array or another antenna you may have bought, turn off amp S button should be yellow key mic see what the dx monitor says if it picks up your signal ( may have to choose a diff band if it does not see your signal ) once you see if any dx spot or dx monitor stations see signal say sas or euc 2s unit turn on amp A+T ( retune for band if necessary if you changed bands ) key mic you should see a increase in s signal with the dx monitor for instance amp OFF: [DXMON] EUC:S1, USE:S3, USW:S4 amp on : [DXMON] ASE:S1, EUC:S4, USE:S9, USW:S9 hope this helps | |
