Introducing Operator Selected Islands (OSI)

We are delighted to announce the launch of Operator Selected Islands (OSI), a brand new program that builds on the legacy of our popular Operator Selected Remotes (OSR) system.

For many years, OSR gave licensed amateur radio operators the opportunity to operate reciprocal callsigns from locations around the world. While the program was ultimately closed to new applications in 2022 due to increasing administrative challenges, it remained one of the most requested features by our community.
After several years of planning and development, we are proud to introduce its successor.

Operator Selected Islands (OSI) are remotely controlled stations on inhabited islands around the world using reciprocal call signs. Every OSI location has been carefully selected and verified to provide documented mains electricity and reliable Internet connectivity.

Highlights
* Reciprocal island callsigns using official ITU assigned prefixes.
* Standard subscription of €25 for 3 months.
* Premium island prefixes available through auction.
* Multiple operators may share the same island prefix.
* Permanent association between your HamSphere account and your approved OSI callsigns.
* Dormant stations can be reactivated at any time.

Previous OSR operators have not been forgotten. If your former OSR callsign matches your new OSI station, you may qualify for the Legacy OSR Fund, allowing historical purchases to be returned gradually as Legacy Credits while you actively operate your OSI station.
