HamSphere Remote Station (HRS) concept

Introduction to HamSphere Remote Station (HRS) concept

HamSphere considers a new concept, the HamSphere Remote Station (HRS) program, which offers licensed Amateur Radio operators with a valid subscribed HamSphere account the opportunity to establish a fully operational remote station within the HamSphere ecosystem. By simulating the real-world experience of remote radio operation, the HRS would allow users to explore propagation conditions, connect with operators worldwide, and enhance their engagement with the HamSphere platform.

HamSphere will evaluate this concept thoroughly and announce by 1 January 2025 whether we will move forward with implementing the program. We reserve the right to adjust or withdraw the concept based on our evaluation.

Note: The HRS terms do NOT apply to previously issued OSR (Operator Selected Remotes) accounts.

HamSphere Remote Station (HRS) Terms

Eligibility

  • Only licensed Amateur Radio operators with a valid subscribed HamSphere account can apply.
  • Each operator is limited to one active HRS at a time.
  • The operator's license must allow operation under reciprocal agreements in the chosen HRS location.

Costs

  • Setup Fee: 100 EUR, covering the first year of operation.
  • Renewal Fee: 32 EUR per year to maintain the same HRS.

Commitment

  • Each HRS operates on a one-year subscription basis.
  • Operators must maintain the HRS for the full year before making any changes or decisions regarding the station's future.

Renewal or Expiration

At the end of the subscription year, operators have two choices:

  • Renew the HRS for 32 EUR to continue operation.
  • Allow the HRS to expire, at which point it will be permanently deleted.

Relocation After Expiration

  • Once an HRS has expired, operators can establish a new HRS at a different location.
  • A new 100 EUR setup fee applies to each new HRS setup.

Item Policy

  • Antennas and plugins purchased for an HRS are tied to that station and cannot be transferred to another HRS or account.
  • Operators are eligible for an 80% repurchase of their original value (purchased plug-ins and antennas), credited to their main HamSphere account in HS Credits, if the station is abandoned.

Misuse Policy

  • Unauthorized use, sharing, or violations of HamSphere rules, including the Code of Conduct, will result in immediate termination of the HRS without refunds.
