HF Events and ActivationsAny operator can create an event or activation on HamSphere with a special callsign. It is free of charge. HamSphere offers five types of event call signs: HE (HamSphere Events): Example: 137HE2024. IOHS (Islands On HamSphere): Example: IOHS/SE032. LOHS (Lighthouses On HamSphere): Example: LOHS/SE126. POHS (Parks On HamSphere): Example: POHS/GB345. COHS (Castles On HamSphere): Example: COHS/SE001. COHS (Castles On HamSphere) are not categorized in the world of Ham Radio, and as such, we have to do a case-by-case estimation and numbering. If you are interested in making an activation in or outside a castle near you, please contact our avid Event team at events@hamsphere.com. We are more than happy to assist you in organizing and executing these unique activations. Activations must remain on the HamSphere HF bands. If you live near a lighthouse, park, or castle and want to organize an activation, contact events@hamsphere.com with your event application. IOHS, LOHS, and POHS require an identifier, which can be found here: International Island identifiers - IOHS, International Lighthouse identifiers - LOHS, International Park identifiers - POHS. Participating in these events provides an opportunity to earn unique awards and it also enhances the camaraderie within our community. These activities encourage operators to interact, share experiences, and learn from each other, enriching the overall HamSphere experience. Join the HamSphere Events and Activations group to stay updated and involved. Rules and Criteria: An event station can operate up to 7 days for each event, max 3 times per year. Time between activations should be at least 3 months. HE Call signs: You can name your event anything based on an official historic event in your country or region or any other official real event or happening. The prefix will hold the same number as your country, if you for example live in France your HE callsign will start as 14HE. You may not apply for Events for other countries/land mass than you own. For example, a French operator may not create an event station in Guadeloupe or any other entity considered being a part of the home country unless the operator physically lives there. IOHS Call signs: The callsign must have an ISO + Island identifier, for example IOHS/SE116 and should only be activated from the actual island. Geo/GPS proof needed as well as documenting pictures. LOHS Call signs: The callsign must have an ISO + LightHouse identifier, for example LOHS/SE116 and should only be activated from or next to the physical lighthouse. Geo/GPS proof needed as well as documenting pictures. POHS Call signs: The callsign must have an ISO + Park identifier, for example POHS/SE116 and should only be activated from the physical park grounds. Geo/GPS proof needed as well as documenting pictures. COHS Call signs: The callsign must have an ISO + Castle identifier, for example COHS/SE116 and should only be activated from inside or outside the castle and its grounds. Geo/GPS proof needed as well as documenting pictures. The Event station is free of charge. The events are allowed on HF 10-160m only. Contact events@hamsphere.com |
