Have anybody experienced problems with HS 5?

Hi:

I have the HS5 transceiver but unable to get the lower bands. I get solid communications on the VHF, UHF bands but anything lower than 6 meters, nothing. I do get test data from Australia but that is it. I never had this problem when I was using HS 3 and 4. Is anybody else having these problems? It is very frustrating as there are many changes taking place. Thanks and 73's de K6RVD, Mel

Hi Mel

I’ve used HS5 mainly via the iPhone Beta. There’s not much activity
and to make any impact, when there is propagation, I’d need to buy extra
software “antennas” and buy the waterfall, the live activity log etc.

It’s all too much extra for little activity or satisfaction so I’m going
to let it lapse.

It’s too complicated and too much trouble for something that could
have been great. I rather liked HS3. It was friendly and the whole interface
pretty much functioned as a station from the moment of installation
and login.

There’s just too many wrinkles, difficulties and purchases required.

I’m disappointed. So much effort has been made on something I find disappointing.

I hope you get the hang of it and learn to love it.

Hello Mel.

I have also had no success with this app. After many days of fighting with this thing only frustration and will attempt to un-subscribe if possible.

Really liked the idea, but it appears to be just a gimic to try to take more from you.

Agree, it's a bit of a let down from HS3 and 4, where there was a lot more activity. I agree 100% with your view of HS3 as it was a great place to make new friends very easily, and at virtually any time of the day or night.
