Good Day to one and all, I have a general question regarding QSL Cards. Is it customary to send QSL cards and return if received after a contact or am I not getting the point of this concept of QSL Cards. Out of the last 19 contacts I have taken part in and have sent a QSL card to everyone of them only 6 had the courtesy to resend in kind with their cards. I have noticed that out of these 6 replies that some people have spent a lot of time designing these cards and they are a great way to keep track of contacts as they can be saved via the PC version of Hamshpere5 and I appreciate every one that I have recieved but why do some people not return even after they have received a card from a contact??? I just wanted to ask this question of the Hamsphere group to see what the reaction of these QSL Cards is and why so little actually do not return in kind after receiving one from a contact. Many Thanks Brian 26HS107 Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland. I |

It is my understanding that the sending of QSL cards is completely optional and not a requirement of any operator. I for one, honour the tradition of sending one for virtually every contact. The exception to the rule is if I've contacted a station within a few days or even hours after the initial contact. I will however send a card if requested by the other end.
I'm not super creative in my card making, so I frequently run out of new or different cards. I'd love some help in creating some of the fancier cards I routinely receive, wishing I could respond with something as equally appealing. 73s and best wishes de Dave 43HS2971 |
