Coming back to Hamsphere 5 has been a disappointment because firstly there is a lot less activity on it than Hamsphere 3 and 4 in order to be competitive you need to buy a lot plugins along with good antennas! What I have found out the built antennas that come with the program don’t work ! As far as the propagation that is simulated is not accurate because I am a licensed Ham radio operator I work 20 metes and 40 meters HF daily with my equipment at the park and I am able to make lots of Contacts on 20 meters everyday , with Hamsphere 5 absolutely not I know for a fact the developers of this program are not taking hard statistics from QRZ page along with the propagation data ! I will say this that this is a good program for someone that wants to learn about Ham Radio and somewhere down the road get his license and acquire Ham Radio Equipment this is the program for them ! The way I see it for us Ham Radio operators it’s a way of getting some QSO with some great people in the Hamsphere Community and swapping some Cool Nice QSL Cards when Contact are made ! The Awards program needs to be looked at because you have a lot of people that cannot afford the plugin for antennas what that means in the big Picture they will not be able to make Contacts and be competitive for awards ! As for myself I have achieved many awards across many different platforms whether out in the Field with my equipment and Antennas or Digitally . I really hope that this program is looked at and put serious considerations of making modifications to where it’s needed !
